2019 Black Masking Cultural Festival in New Orleans

The 2019 Black Masking Cultural Festival is set to go down this Friday July 5th 2019. It starts at noon and runs to 5pm.

There will be Mardi Gras Indian gangs, brass bands, food trucks, roving cocktail and beer vendors, and one imagines, big crowds due to all the hard partying Essence Fest folks being in town.

Update: We went and did not lay eyes on a single Indian. It was roughly 100 degrees and donning a 100lb Indian suit would’ve been a dicey move for even the most fit of people.
