The Satchmo Summerfest second line is not part of the official New Orleans second line season.

It’s more of a warmup where everybody dusts off their top hats, gleams their canes, polishes their shoes, and works the kinks out of their leg muscles in anticipation of the upcoming roster of street parties.

We moved heaven and earth to make sure we’ll be in attendance.

Some of the best buckjumpers in New Orleans will be at the second line.

Al Carnival Time Johnson will be out there in his typical finery

Treme Brass Band will be honking with aplomb

One of the members of Fi Yi Yi informed us that his crew will be out in force
