Rolling through some old photo archives, I found this image of Family Tradition Barbecue down in Waelder, Texas. As we all know, this smokehouse shuttered back in October of last year.
Jerry Fogle, pitboss, underwent surgery last year and had to shutter the operation so that he could recuperate.
When we last spoke to Fogle, he mentioned that he was looking to reopen a meathouse near Lake McQueeney sometime this Spring.
If this comes to pass, and I pray that it does, a roadtrip will surely be in order as Mr. Fogle put out some of the best brisket and handmade sausage I had the pleasure of eating last year.
