I'll put up a thorough report in the next couple days but for now I leave you with this.
As we began to clamber up these stairs we knew Swift's Attic was in its power. There was literally a buzz of contentment in the air from dozens of people all sitting around eating antelope, drinking bourbon and licking chocolate sauce off their fingers. The only thing missing was a dense haze of Pall Mall smoke and we could've been in Sofia in the 1940s.
It bordered on louche.
The buzz becomes a roar when you crest the top of the stairs. It's a loud room but at 100% occupancy that's to be expected.
If this is Swift's Attic soft opening week we'd hate to see what it would look like if they had decided to go hard.
More to come.
As we reflected back on last night's meal we agreed that Swift's Attic put out the best spread we'd had since we hit Pachamama's Peruvian Creole Cuisine a while back. http://www.scrumptiouschef.com/food/index.cfm/2012/3/29
