We've been getting a kick out of the Shaggybevo food board; GM Steakhouse. The men over that way are dyed in the wool chowhounds who seemingly do little other than eat massive amounts of barbecue and drink gallons of beer around Austin then write posts about it.

It reminds me of the old days of Austin's Chowhound board before the unpaid, volunteer moderators ran everybody off.

After getting banned on Chowhound we started looking around the internet to get our local food fix and stumbled upon Shaggybevo and their food board GM Steakhouse. We got so excited we wrote an article about it. It's here http://www.scrumptiouschef.com/food/index.cfm/2012/1/10 it got over a thousand page views in a matter of hours once the shagsters found out about the piece.

We ran down to south Austin today for a brisket lunch and coaxed John Mueller into posing for a picture next to his brand new banner touting the Shaggy board.

Those guys are all over John Mueller's barbecue with some saying that it's even better than his former pupil's; Aaron Franklin.

We'll leave that debate up in the air for now.
