Week 4. How many hundreds of food blogs are centered in Austin, Texas? We'd be frightened to guess, but once you issue the imprimatur of active ones the number would shrink down to a very manageable "in the dozens."

Further regulations limiting these to high quality ones would see that number's margin shrink even more dramatically. But we've got our favorites and there are several doing good work these days. Right this way.

We log a lot of time over at Ginny's Austin. While they're not authoring a pure food site there are still plenty restaurant-oriented posts to keep our attention. They've put up an "open on Thanksgiving" feature that encompasses much of Austin from shoestring budget to fat cat-style expense account holiday eating. http://www.ginnysaustin.com/thanksgiving-2012/

Optimista over at Foodie Is The New Forty put up a fresh post! After taking October off to do lord knows what, she's back with a vengeance, powering through a "banh mi" at Snarky's Moo Bawk Oink http://www.foodieisthenewforty.com/

We love any recipe that starts with 2 pounds of pork. Austin's leading authority on gluten free eating; Rachelle King, authored an article titled Gluten-Free Malaysian Rendang Pulled Pork that had us gnawing on our sofa cushions http://www.blindedbythebite.com/gluten-free/gluten-free

Do you like macaroni and cheese? Unless you're a commie, we reckon that's a rhetorical question. Nationally prominent bloggers; Foie Gras Hot Dog, wrote 2 recipes for this iconic American dish that had us slobbering like coon hounds http://foiegrashotdog.blogspot.com/2012/11/refrigerator

The perpetual love-in that is Austin food blogging takes a break over at the South Austin Foodie blog. They call it right down the middle. If you read most Austin blogger's output you'd swear there is no such thing as a bad meal in Austin. Godawful places like Pinthouse Pizza are regularly celebrated as being viable sources for good meals. The love-in ends here http://southaustinfoodie.blogspot.com/2012/11/recent-ea

Those were the best gems we could find after a long perusal across the internet. Got a food blog you're authoring? Tell us all about it. But if you put up one post every 4 weeks-don't bother.
