We first reported on the opening of Bouldin Creek's Elizabeth Street Cafe here http://www.scrumptiouschef.com/food/index.cfm/2011/8/8/ and were stunned at the response.

Maybe it was the descriptor "French Colonial Hanoi" that won the crowds over. We don't know.

What we do know is that South Austin is set to get a banh mi source from some people who are most accomplished when it comes to opening restaurants.

McGuire Moorman Hospitality is the team behind the cafe. These gentleman also gave Austin Texas Lambert's Barbecue and Perla's, my favorite fish restaurant in Austin.

They're pros.

Construction is under full swing as is evidenced by the photo.

We're excited. We lived in Bouldin Creek back in the 90's and there was Tex Mex and there was Tex Mex. That was about it.
