It's rare that I want to roll through a kitchen throwing punches but that's the way I felt years ago when I tried the "gumbo" at Shoal Creek Saloon.

A murky brown bowl of soup claiming to be one of the great culinary inventions, gumbo, made it's way to the table and was little more than brown tap water.

I refrained from launching a missile dropkick through the order window and onto the line that night but it took years before I ventured back to Shoal Creek.

They really made it right that night, serving me a delicious, perfectly cooked ribeye steak with all the trimmings.

Who's been to Shoal Creek Saloon of late?

How was it?
