One of my favorite taqueras in Austin is the lovely

Maria of La Canaria.

This lady is a talented Mexican chef who pays close attention to the food coming out of her kitchen.

Best gordita in Austin, top flight Posole on the weekends, handmade tortillas...the list goes on.

A recent paint job has La Canaria looking fresh as a daisy and this morning's visit found a nice line of hungry patrons waiting for Maria's estimable food.
