Dozens of police officers prevent people from gathering Under The Bridge on Claiborne on weekends in New Orleans

We’re glad Kermit Ruffins had the fortitude to say to the media what many members of the Treme community have been discussing for the past year.

California-native Mayor Latoya Cantrell banned Second Lines and then banned public gatherings Under The Bridge on Claiborne Avenue a year ago.

Bourbon Street is running wide-open.

They have more money on Bourbon Street, and you have more white people on Bourbon Street. We’ve got little money on Claiborne Street and it’s all black people.

The Black economy that runs on Second Line Sunday and for the weekend gatherings Under The Bridge has been extinguished by Latoya Cantrell.

If you disagree with her stance on these matters please visit the polls this November.
