We’re listening to “Long Distance Blues” by T-Bone Walker this morning.
On March 20, 1953, Imperial Records ushered Walker into Cosimo Matassa’s studio on Rampart to record with Dave Bartholomew. Cosimo was on the mixing board.
They put down seven cuts that day. Texan Aaron Thibeaux Walker had his first single 24 years earlier at the age of 19 in 1929.
