The U.S Department of Labor came down hard on Billy Frey, owner of Billy’s Boudin and Cracklins back in 2016.

They slapped the Acadiana-based fried out pork fat concern with $138k in fines for shortchanging workers on their paychecks.

After a lengthy investigation, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division forced Mr. Frey to open up the company’s checkbook to pay back the workers who’d been grifted.

Frey’s employees received $112,724 while the feds netted $25,750 in civil money penalties.

It did not appear to hurt Billy Frey’s business as the company just announced a new location in Carencro inside the Hit the Run gas station just off I-49.

We used to run by the Billy’s in Scott but after the company’s unethical business practices were revealed we flat quit going.

You don’t have to worry about Wallace Johnson engaging in shady dealings with his workers, and that’s why we spend our money at Johnson’s Boucaniere.
