Dennis Chamberlain a professional photographer from Corrales, New Mexico had visited New Orleans during Frank’s reign as the top barman in the city, and had ventured into Evelyn’s Place.

The result was predictable as everyone that met Frank in his old drinkery summarily had their minds blown by his potent blend of hospitality mixed with old-school New Orleans story-telling.

Frank held court at Evelyn’s Place for over 50 years and touched thousands of people’s lives. New Orleans is lesser without him living in it.

Thank you for the lovely tribute to my father Frank Cimini. He owned Evelyn’s Place 35 years, it was opened in 1977 and closed 2012 when he passed away at the age of 87. He worked sometimes 12 hrs a day 7 days a week right up till his heart attack. He loved telling his stories which did have a grain of truth but also a lot of imagination! He missed his calling as a great author but he loved weaving his tales for his friends and customers. He was a non drinking bar man and one of a kind. Thank you for remembering him! Sandra Cimini
