Larry the butcher out at Joey Jeanfreau’s Meat Market in St Bernard Parish is one of the top hands in south Louisiana. We roll out there at least once a week to buy ground beef, handmade hot tamale sausages, hog’s head cheese and anything else that strikes our fancy in their meat case.
A good butcher is worth his weight in gold and if Larry’s carrying a protein then we are assured that whatever it is will be of the highest quality.
Like this ribeye. A one pound behemoth that we charred up over a big Hickory fire in the backyard of our 9th Ward double.
