The Tamale Gazetteer is our occasional look at the world of tamales. We live in a hotbed of tamale making, New Orleans, Louisiana and prior to our life near the Gulf of Mexico we were settled in nicely in Austin, Texas-another tamale stronghold.

  1. I have asked you once before to contact me in reference to your supposed dislike of our tamales. Once again I ask you to contact me, if you feel you somehow have the ability to make that comment, I would really like to know why. I am not mad, I am not angry, I am confused. The only other person who made a comment similar to yours as it turned out had an agenda so I am really curious as to your feelings as posted. If you can go out and make posts such as this, I believe you owe me the courtesy of a phone call or emails to please explain yourself. It is very easy for someone to say your blog is nothing more than an armature hack job with a personal agenda attached, but then where is the proof. Again I would just like a chat, as our goal is to make everyone happy , thanks and I look forward to hearing from you

    • I’m not sure what “armature” means. I’ve reached out to Eleanor, the writer who produced that article to see why she referred to your tamales as shitty. I’ll let you know when she responds.

      • RL, you can’t be more wrong on your shitty comment about Padrino Tamales. Clearly you haven’t even tried them. If you’re going to make flippant comments like that, give a reason. I’m a by God born here raised here Texican married to a Mexican. We put those tamales on our plates not just at Thanksgiving and Christmas but for 4th of July too! Research and taste young person. Research and taste. And mind your language, you lose respect.

          • Funny how you side step accountability here as you have primary responsibility for what you print and it is a direct reflection of you and the unprofessional folks around you how this is still unanswered and it print harming a hard working businessman who knows this to be false. Time to quit printing unfounded opinions that effect YOUR reputation and those of others you affect harmfully without merit or truth. Eleanor will probably blame her spellcheck to hide her stupidity. David has so much more of a professional view and respect. My attorney would have your apology and a check book. Dave Luther will keep making Padrino Foods THE PLACE for the easiest tamales to prepare and the best tamales to eat ever!!! Tamale On!!!!
