New Orleans Crime: Shotgun Robber Benny Walker Strong Armed By Gumbo Shop Workers
Benny Walker had a bad night.
At 10:45 pm on Sunday November 24th 2014 he strolled into the Gumbo Shop in New Orleans’ French Quarter and made his way upstairs to the office.
Upon entry, he brandished a stolen, sawed-off shotgun and demanded the contents of the safe.
That’s when all Hell broke loose.
A group of workers set upon the brigand, disarming him and wrestling control of his sovereign.
Walker never stood a chance.
Now he’s lodged in OPP (Orleans Parish Prison) awaiting a judge’s decision on bond.
Benny Walker is being charged with three counts of armed robbery, three counts of armed robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a firearm and illegal possession of a stolen firearm
