Who’s got the Woodruff-flavored syrup y’all?

Baton Rouge’s Bulldog (4385 Perkins Rd) hosts Saint Arnold out of Houston tonight; they’re bringing a keg of their definitive take on Berliner Weisse: Boiler Room. European beer geeks don’t leave the house without a tincture bottle of woodruff (Asperula odorata) to add to their Berliner Weisse.

Woodruff has lots of uses: It’s a lovely little plant but it really comes to life when its leaves are harvested and dried. They smell like fresh cut grass or hay. Old granny women used to mix it into their snuffs, and Germans mix it with Rhine wine in early May to create a beverage called Maibowle.

and plenty New Orleans beer parties too http://www.nolabeerblog.com/
