Southern Food Matters:Race,Class and Gender in Tomatoes,Biscuits, and Greens w/ Elizabeth Engelhardt
The Austin History Center continues to dazzle with their series of guest food lecturers. Tomorrow night, October 22nd, UT professor Elizabeth Engelhardt will host a discussion on “Race, Class and Gender in Tomatoes, Biscuits, and Greens”
We’re not sure what this entails but Engelhardt is an authority on the intersection of historic and modern foodways-when she talks, we listen.
Time: 6:30 pm
Place: Austin History Center
Address: 810 Guadalupe St
We’ve got a block of time scheduled in the commissary kitchen tomorrow to knock out a big batch of Texas Hot Guts sausage but we’ll knock off early to attend this event.
Let’s hope somebody brings some food!
