Toni Tipton Martin is a food lioness. Author, cook, family woman, blogger, her list of accomplishments is a mile long. As former president of Southern Foodways Alliance board of directors as well as being a founder of Foodways Texas, when she speaks-we listen.

Tonight, Tuesday September 10th 2013, Martin is presenting: Black Enterprise: Remembering Austin’s Pioneering Entrepreneurs, a 90 minute multi-media tour through 1870s East Austin where Black folks had set up a thriving commercial corridor filled with meat markets, bodegas and green grocers.

This event is part of the exhibit “How to Prepare a Possum: 19th Century Cuisine in Austin”

The party starts at 6:30 pm and runs til 8pm.
