Heartbreaking news from the world of high finance and micro-blogging. Tumblr has been sold by founder David Karp to the Yahoo.

Things will never be the same.

For the uninitiated, Tumblr is the wild, wild west of blogging. To some folks it’s a photo-blogging platform, others use it as a diary a la Livejournal, and of course there are plenty people who use it to post lol cats and nudie pics from days of yore. We jumped on it a few years back when we wanted an online archive where we could post a mammoth amount of Istanbul photos. For the first year that’s all we did: load photos; first of Istanbul, then Alabama, Zagreb, New Orleans, Budapest, and Kentucky.

Texas barbecue has also figured large into our work.

The platform is (or was) a marvel as you can easily put up a 100 posts in under an hour. Like Gina Lollobrigida? There are nearly a million photos of this classic beauty. Brisket? Countless, literally, images of big hunks of beef are over that way. In other words: name it. If you want to venture deep into the world of fill-in-the-blank, then Tumblr has vast archives with the object of your current obsession.

Don’t fall down the wrong rabbit hole though. There is an ugly, ugly side to Tumblr that shall not be mentioned here. Suffice to say, it’s easy to scar your corneas if you type in the wrong key words.

Here’s a link to our page http://rlreevesjr.tumblr.com/ If you like old timey music, travel, barbecue and film then this where we cover those subjects.
