We love reading local food blogs and Shaggybevo is one of the best. From the past:
1} We wrote a mash note to their GM Steakhouse Board titled “Surveying The Wild and Wooly World of Shaggybevo’s GM Steakhouse. An Austin Texas Food Board”
“Off the charts.
When we were removed from the Austin Chowhound board by a top ranking official at CBS corporation who’d deemed us a threat to the corporation’s weal, we immediately began looking across the Austin Texas food media scene to find sustenance.
Score. We stumbled upon Shaggybevo a local website forum that covers a broad range of topics [it’s sports-y] but has a food, sub-forum called GM Steakhouse that is incredibly informative and entertaining.
You might say it slams and goes hard.
We love the passion of the posters over that way. more http://www.scrumptiouschef.com/food/2012/1/10/Surveying-The-Wild-and-Wooly-World-of-Shaggybevos-GM-Steakhouse-An-Austin-Texas-Food-Board
2} And then we penned “A Voice In The Wilderness:Shaggybevo Eater “Bernard” Goes Against The Grain:Hates Franklin Barbecue”
We never saw that one coming.
The boys over at Shaggybevo’s GM Steakhouse are ardent lovers of Franklin Barbecue. They post moment by moment, day by day updates of what’s happening in the Franklin dining room and they are elated with the quality of meat coming out of the Franklin smokehouse.
3} After that we wrote “Shaggybevo’s GM Steakhouse Hits The Big Time: Officially Endorsed By John Mueller Barbecue”
We’ve been getting a kick out of the Shaggybevo food board; GM Steakhouse. The men over that way are dyed in the wool chowhounds who seemingly do little other than eat massive amounts of barbecue and drink gallons of beer around Austin then write posts about it.
4} and then “Austin Daily Photo: John Mueller Throws A Barbecue Party And Shaggybevo Brings The Goods”
Pictured: A mountainous pile of barbecue beef chuck ribs. Not pictured: a bunch of guys from Austin’s Shaggybevo board trundling enough food to feed the crowd at DKR on any given Saturday in the Autumn of the year.
We ate like kings yesterday at John Mueller’s barbecue party. A fun crowd of eaters and cooks all showed up on South First street to drink beer, listen to music, eat smoked meat and stand around jawboning for a few hours.
It was a time.
5} after that “Shaggybevo Is Now On Board RL Reeves Jr’s Austin, Texas Barbacoa Project”
I’ve enlisted the aid of the gentlemen over at Shaggybevo for my barbacoa project. Should be interesting, to put it mildly.
Shaggybevo has been well documented in these pages before. It’s Austin’s dominant food forum with thousands of posters covering hundreds of topics. If anybody remembers the old Austin Chowhound board [RIP] in its heyday, well, this one’s even better.
6} and “Surveying The Wild and Wooly World of Shaggybevo’s GM Steakhouse. An Austin Texas Food Board Part 2”
What a great resource Shaggybevo’s GM Steakhouse is for Austin beer and food lovers.
We’ve covered them quite a bit these past few months, and are having a ball over that way posting and reading tons of informative, food related musings from a group of men who seeming do little more than eat and drink their way across Austin on a daily basis.
Well, the romance is over. I cross post hot links to other sites from this blog and from other sites to this one on a daily basis. It’s blogging 101 and it truly is the lifeblood of the web. Give credit where credit is due, build outbound traffic, build inbound traffic and foster a sense of community on the web. It’s what make the internet what it is. A thriving world of information exchanges.
Everybody doesn’t see it that way however
