Sushi: The Global Catch By Mark S. Hall, winner of the Special Jury Prize at the Seattle International Film Festival, is set to screen at Alamo Drafthouse Village Wednesday August 8th 2012 at 7pm. We’ve written about this film previously here http://www.scrumptiouschef.com/food/2011/6/20/Austinite-Mark-S-Hall-Brings-His-Doc-Sushi-The-Global-Catch-To-The-World-Stage keep a watchful eye for an appearance by Austin’s Sushi A Go Go, the food truck gone brick and mortar {Kome! http://www.scrumptiouschef.com/food/2011/10/25/Birth-Notice-Kome}

This film addresses how our ravenous lust for sushi has drained the world’s oceans and seas of their most precious resource. It’s not the fishes fault that they taste so damn good. And we can’t help ourselves either. Austinite Hall does a good, even balanced job of addressing this quandary and the film rarely shows in town, plus it’s a Texas Filmmakers’ Production Fund benefit screening.
