Brace up y’all. It’s going to take some serious diligence to get in on this event. Tickets for the Texas Monthly BBQ Festival go on sale tomorrow and you better have some hot ass wi fi and or good speed dialing ability or you will be left in the dust.

Looks like the best value is in the VIP ticket due to the booty that comes with the stub:

From the website: 2 beverage coupons

One (1) BBQ Festival T-shirt

One (1) one-year subscription to Texas Monthly

One (1) Q Card redeemable at participating restaurants and retailers (click here for more Q Card details)

Admission onto the festival grounds for one hour (12pm-1pm) prior to general admission ticket holders.

All this for $118 plus $7 service fee if you don’t walk up to the box office to purchase

As a broke service industry worker I’ll be sitting this one out but it sure does look like a good time.

The rabble can get in too! Normal tickets are $58, same upcharge for non walk-up purchases though

Newcomer of the year is Pecan Lodge out of Dallas.

Other notable news is the fact that cranky outsider John Mueller will not be vending at the affair. Would’ve been great to see him face off with brother Wayne of Louie Mueller to see who could put out the better barbecue.

Maybe next year.

We quasi-attended last year and ran into a cross dressing Fairy Godmother too! Longform right this way http://chowpapi.com/wordpress/wordpress-2.8.6/wordpress/from-across-the-street-rl-reeves-jr-looks-at-the-texas-monthly-barbecue-festival-2011-people%E2%80%99s-choice-awards/
