There’s been a lot of construction in the former flower shop between Posse East and Sao Paolo Brazilian restaurant on San Jacinto.

We walked in the other day and introduced ourselves to the two nice ladies overseeing the project.

We have a feeling we’re going to be writing plenty about Rosie, the lead cook on the project and the taquera responsible for making both corn and flour tortillas from scratch daily. She’s a peach and has the air about her of a serious cook.

This old town is in need of more restaurateurs who take their craft seriously.

Making scratch stock, scratch tortillas and using actual potatoes in their cooking bespeaks the kind of cooking we crave on a daily basis.

We welcome Taco Joint and the lovely Rosie to the Austin restaurant scene.
