We eat as little fast food as possible.

Then there’s Popeye’s [est. 1972] which is delicious by any metric. We raged with great fury when the Airport Blvd location ceased their 2 piece with a biscuit $1.99 special that every other Popeye’s in town continues to run.

But then we realized it was probably for the best. It’s too damn easy to dash in at this price point and when you couple the fact that we keep a dozen or so artisan maple syrups and fruit preserves tubs in our fridge at all times-then you’ve got a recipe for disaster.

But today, in the spirit of a national holiday we’ll be running by Popeye’s to sate ourselves with some spicy, crusty, salty fried chicken from the kitchen of Al Copeland.
