We have high hopes for Flat Top Burger Shop, the new outfit from the El Chile Restaurant group.

While it’s true that we’ve had some poor meals from other restaurants in this umbrella group’s concern, we can’t wait to have a new neighborhood burger source for French Place. Let’s hope they get this one right.

With Hop Doddy leading the charge for the anti-Sysco, fake-food movement, we hope Flat Top will be sourcing correctly, preparing their own potatoes, hand patting their burgers, baking their buns etc.

There’s a new metric for deliciousness in town and we don’t want to revisit the bad old days of sloppy, disinterested cooking where a fryer jockey tears open a frozen bag of this and that and just sort of calls it a day.

We’ll keep our readers posted on Flat Top Burger Shop’s opening as it appears to be drawing near.
