Back when SXSW was still tenable we used to use Hickory Street as a waystation for our Paramount movie showcases.
The patio was lovely, beers were cheap and plentiful and the waitstaff would leave you alone so you could write and ponder. We never ate here after getting a horror report from a friend who went out of his way to warn us of the kitchen.
Still, it’ll be sad to see the old girl fall by the wayside.
We were under the impression this restaurant was owned by the same person who owns Freddies down on South First but apparently we were mistaken.
