Addie Broyles is earning her keep over at the Statesman with lots of breaking restaurant news these days.
We just read that Paradise Cafe has closed. We used to love to get up around noon on Sunday and roll in there for a delicious plate of pot roast with all the fixings, along with $2 cans of Mexican beer.
This is how we spent many a weekend afternoon.
Paradise had been vending chuck roast for 30 years.
It’s to be replaced by Old School Grill, the brick and mortar from the team behind the yellow school bus Old School Barbecue.
We had some spectacularly bad barbecue from these fellows when they were parked over on MLK.
Sad as they were some of the nicest restaurateurs you could ever hope to meet.
