When the angst, torpor and inertia of Austin living grow unbearable we don’t allow ourselves to get the vapors.
We just roll up to Pflugerville for an evening of frivolity at the Red Rooster. This is an historically important room that housed one of the icons of central Texas drinking culture; Tuff’s Tavern. We’ll save that history lesson for another date but suffice to say the new owners have done a good job of keeping the ol girl hang worthy.
We like to sit over in the corner at “Tuff’s table” where Tuff Knebel used to hold court with his cronies back when Moses was young.
