We eat a lot of fried chicken in Austin Texas. We’ve got our spots and they veer towards East Side soul food joints like Galloway Sandwich Shop, Nubian Queen Lola’s, Three Little Pigs and Popeyes [!]-2 for .99 on Tuesdays. But ever so often we run down south of the Colorado for a big plate of Honduran soul food at Sabor A Honduras.

Two Honduran girls run the kitchen on wheels near the old Aquarius Theater off Pleasant Valley.

These gals really know how to cook. $8.50 gets you a big plate of bone in fried chicken with rice, beans and plantains. This little cart also has first class, hand patted flour tortillas.

But no salsa.
