Winner Announced: San Antonio Food Truck Throwdown Victor Is Smoke Shack
The San Antonio Food Truck Throw Down was a huge success with 6,000 people attending over the course of the 3 day affair.
Lines were long for the 2 dozen or so food trucks perched on Boardwalk on Bulverde, a dedicated food truck park in northwest San Antonio.
The organizer of the event, Josh Davies, says he has a solution to the line problem for the next event. Reduce the number of trucks [?]
We’re not exactly sure how that works but we wish them the best of luck.
Mr Davies also announced another shootout amongst the region’s food trucks later this year; Octobeer Fest.
It’s taking place September 30th, October 1st-2nd 2011.
Entry fee for the trucks is being raised from $200 to $500.
While Smoke Shack did manage to emerge victorious there were murmurs of discontent over the complex voting procedure.
We hope that gets sorted out for the next throwdown.
