It remains to be seen whether it’s going to be a worthwhile effort but PBS has jumped into the food game.

They’ve launched their own site, hired some bloggers and are having a go at covering the food scene.

A cursory search finds the site to be sorely lacking in content but something tells us the eggheads in charge will start cranking out some content soon. But when we search for barbecue or Tex Mex on a food site and get nothing we usually don’t go back.

With such a storied history and so many nights spend huddled around the black and white Sanyo television, the antenna twisting in the mountain breeze, well, we’re suckers for PBS.

Always have been.

Always will be.

So they get a pass….for now.

Check out the site. And start volleying emails their way so we can get lots of Texas-based coverage.

Frontline expose’ on Aaron Franklin?

Nova comes to town to figure out how Yolanda Sanchez Cornejo makes her tortillas.

American Experience goes deep on La Reyna.

We’re all in.
