I’m incubating a cooking project right now that has required doing a lot of research on Texas sourced foods. Primarily brisket, potatoes, grits and pinto beans.

I’ve been surprised at how much food we get imported while simultaneously exporting those same goods thousands of miles away.

It’s disheartening.

During my search for Texas beef I came across a good listing of farms and ranches that sustainably raise grass fed beef for slaughter.

I haven’t sampled any of the meat yet but I wanted to share the resource with y’all in case a reader wanted to throw some Texas beef on the grill and then share their experience. (the old link is busted, sorry y’all)
