For 77 years The Hoffbrau has been putting out plainly griddled steaks with fried potatoes and vinegary salads.
There’s little else, perhaps a stray chicken breast or an odd onion ring lurking about.
Other peculiarities are afoot:
Don’t ask to see a menu.
The Hoffbrau does not have a menu, just a recitation from a waitress.
Do expect to sit on a metal folding chair and soak in some serious history in this 100 plus year old building.
With all the fresh development on west 6th street it’s nice to see The Hoffbrau, which by all rights should be in its’ dotage, still pulling in good crowds while searing off big hunks of meat on their ancient grill.
